The Five W’s of a Leak
March 19th, 2008 — Roofing Contractor Info
Leaks can be elusive. Every good Roofer knows that. After all, that is what the Customer is paying you for. How frustrating for the Roofer to hear “it’s leaking again, in the same spot”.
Knowledge is key and the Customer has most, but not all, of the answers you need. It is the Roofer’s job to get those answers and apply their knowledge, skill and experience to solve a pesky leak.
A good Roofer will ask:
Who saw the leak?
Where did it leak?
What did they see?
When did it leak?
The fifth and final “W”? The question the Roofer answers and gets paid for:
Why did it leak?
Of course, fixing the leak is another subject!
